In addition, the user can select to graph the results when running the program from the CRDSS GUI.
crdssgr
The GUI for the BRM is similar to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) GUI. The GUI uses the
xmgr
and routines to prepare and display graphical output from the CRSM runs. Details regarding the
use of the programs is given in the CRDSS Users? Manual and is available in the on-line documentation.
The programs were run to verify that the SGI and PC versions of the software were producing the same
results as the original USBR CRSS. The program DELCRSM was used to compute the individual
monthly differences and total average monthly differences between the USBR results and the PC and
SGI program output. For the scenarios generated, the results show that the programs produce numbers
that are all within 0.01 percent of each other. Most of the numbers are the same to within 8 digits. The
main differences are likely caused by differences in the precision of the large numbers being calculated.
The prototype model was developed in accordance with the software prototyping procedures described in
Task Memorandum 1.05-22. The GUI was developed in accordance with the procedures described in
Task Memoranda 1.05-15, 1.05-16, 1.05-17, and 1.05-18. Special consideration was given to the
development of GUI features that were common to both the BRM and AOP models (see Task
Memorandum 1.13-1).
3.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
A prototype BRM was developed by porting CRSS to the SGI workstation and developing a BRM GUI.
The recommendation at this point in the project is to use the current program as the CRDSS BRM and to
continue to follow the progress of the USBR project to develop a CRSS replacement.
2
A275 01.09.95 1.12-1 Brazil
