and desired location of the output files. The workbook automatically characterizes the data
and creates a *.prn text file in StateMod format. Suggested file extensions are *.tsl, *.fil, and
*.prn for tstools files, filled data files, and StateMod files, respectively. Filenames should
correspond to the 8-digit gaging station ID. The Excel workbook is write-protected, and
cannot be modified without removing this protection.
Characterizations for the 17 indicator gages are provided in StateMod format in digital form
*.prn files. The *.tsl, *.fil, and *.prn files, as well as a combined file of all the streamflow
characterizations, called charact.prn have been provided to CWCB for loading on the CRDSS
website. The SCT (charact.xls) and the Mixed Station Method (mixsta.exe) have also been made
available.
Comments and Concerns
Currently, summary information must be removed from the bottoms of the files downloaded
from tstool before the SCT can be employed. This issue was addressed during a CRDSS
progress meeting, and an option is being added to tstool that will allow the download without
any summary information.
The MSM model and interface will be modified in Task 11.10 so that more regression summary
information is included in the *.prn files to ensure the reproducibility of results.
References
Salas, Jose D., Ricardo A.
