SYSTEM OVERVIEW <br />The Vidler Tunnel diverts wate r collected in the Vidler <br />Collection System from the headwaters of Peru Creek, a <br />tributary of the Blue River, under Argentine Pass and <br />into the headwaters of Leav enworth Creek, a tributary of <br />Clear Creek. <br />In 1902, Rees Vidler purchased Horsetooth Tunnel <br />(a.k.a. Good Luck Tunnel) with the intent of connecting <br />the railroads at Silver Plume and Keystone by extending <br />the tunnel under the Continental Divide. Insufficient <br />funding and unpaid taxes result ed in the mining claims <br />overlaying the tunnel revert ing to Clear Creek and <br />Summit Counties.
