HydroBase Data:
Diversions are reported as continuously monitored st reamflow records and as
administrative records by Colorado DWR. Continuously monitored streamflow records
for Station 06746500 are available for wate r years 1923 through 2002. Administrative
records for Structure 48005277 are availabl e for water years 1999 through 2002. Both
continuously monitored streamflow records and administrative diversion records are
available on a daily and mont hly basis through Colorado DWR HydroBase. In addition,
George Varra, Water Commissioner for Divisi on 3, also keeps monthly diversion records
for Skyline Ditch in a spreadsheet with other transbasin diversion records.
Available diversion data for Skyline Ditch was reviewed a nd compared to identify the
best available data source (shown in Figure 2) . Monthly diversions for Skyline Ditch are
presented in Table 2. The preferred set of data identified for Skyline Ditch was the
continuously monitored data for Stati on 06746500. When compared to the other
available information sources, the stream flow data at Station 06746500 displayed the
following characteristics:
The longest period of record,
The most complete set of data prior to and throughout the period of study,
Corresponding monthly and daily dive rsion data available, and
Continues to be operated as a re cording device through present.
Annual Diversions for the 1950 to 2002 study period:
Average (1950-2002) = 1,364 acre-feet
Maximum (1954) = 4,927 acre-feet
Minimum (numerous years) = 0.0 acre-feet.
Skyline.doc 5 of 9
