Releases
from the exchange reservoirs can not be delivered directly to lands irrigated under the Home
Supply Ditch. Mariano Reservoir was constructed in 1888 and is filled by the George Rist Ditch
(Structure ID 0400520), which also diverts water for irrigators under the George Rist Ditch. Lon
Hagler Reservoir was constructed in 1965 on the north side of the Home Supply Ditch about 7
miles down ditch. Releases from Lon Hagler Reservoir can only be conveyed to Mariano
Reservoir. Releases from Mariano Reservoir are conveyed to the Big Thompson River below the
George Rist Ditch headgate and above the Loveland Greeley Canal headgate (Structure ID
0400532).
Mariano Reservoir (Structure ID 0404134)
Capacity:
Total Storage: 5,851 ac-ft
Active Storage: 5,476 ac-ft
Dead Storage: 375 ac-ft
Inlet Capacity: 100 cfs
Home Supply Ditch Operating Memorandum.doc 8 of 15 February 16, 2005
