Associated Storage: None.
Compact and Other Legal Considerations: None.
OPERATIONAL INFORMATION
Berthoud Pass Ditch generally diverts from June through late-August, with peak diversions
occurring in late-June and early-July. Diversions through Berthoud Pass Ditch are dependent
upon the amount of spring runoff. Berthoud Pass Ditch does not interact with any other
diversions or storage facilities.
Northglenn indicated that with respect to the combined ownership of Berthoud Pass Ditch by
Northglenn and Golden, the Ditch is operated as follows. Between May 15 and June 30, the first
2 cfs is delivered to Golden. Between August 1 and the end of the irrigation season, the first 4
cfs is delivered to Golden. Anything diverted through the Ditch in excess of these amounts is
delivered to Northglenn.
Where to find more information
^ Specifics relating to the data collection and filling processes used in the determination of
the best source of data are presented in the SPDSS Task 4 Memorandum -Identify and
Fill/Resolve Conflicting Records for Key Transmountain Diversion Structures.
^ Additional information on ditch and reservoir operations within Water District 7 is
presented in the Water District 7 Meeting Notes prepared for SPDSS Task 3 -Identify
Key Diversion Structures.
^ Additional information regarding the operating practices for the Cities of Northglenn and
Golden is presented in the Standley Lake Cities Memorandum prepared for the SPDSS
Task 5 -Key Structures.
COMMENTS AND CONCERNS
None.
REFERENCES
1.
