whether a structure is considered key and will be modeled explicitly or is not considered key and
will be aggregated. In addition several structures are noted that they have been deleted from the
list (will not be modeled) because they were abandoned, are located on a drain, etc. Included in
Attachments 1 are notes as to why a particular structure was considered key (which criteria it
met).
Key reservoirs that will be explicitly represented in the RGDSS surface water model are shown in
Attachment 2. lnstream flow rights that will be modeled explicitly are shown in Attachment 3.
The final lists of key structures selected for the RGDSS surface water modeling effort contains
508 surface diversions structures and reflects over 92 percent of the total amount of decreed water
rights in the Rio Grande Basin (including 3 key structures located in New Mexico which divert
from Costilla Creek). The modeling effort will explicitly represent operations of 11 storage
reservoirs, including Costilla Reservoir in New Mexico (90 percent of decreed storage capacity in
the Basin), and 28 instream flow water rights.
Comments and Concerns
None
Attachments
1.
