The Association attempts to maintain zero flow to the Werner Arroyo at the north end of the
system.
Interaction with District 20 Commissioner
The Association communicates with District 20 Commissioners on a daily basis. Phone calls are
made to the District 20 early each morning to learn about River flow conditions, availability and
the last priorities served. The Association then calls their headgate keeper who adjusts the river
headgate to the appropriate level.
Interaction with Company Share Owners
Ditch riders for the Association are responsible for communicating with share owners. The ditch
riders are kept informed of water requests, and work with the Superintendent to determine the
amount of water to deliver to each of the seven divisions. The ditch riders are responsible for
adjusting individual turnouts to farmers along the conveyance system.
Comments and Concerns
None
Attachments
C:Acdss\RGCanal.doc Rio Grande Canal Water Users Association Interview June 13, 1999 -Page 7 of 7
