Results
Sensitivity analyses were performed using this approach with representative data throughout the
basin to determine the effects of climate data and soil types on the recharge estimates developed.
Based on findings from the memorandum for Task 53.2 -Collect and Fill Missing Monthly
Climate Data, recharge estimates were developed for locations within the ground water model
area that represent the extremes of high and low annual precipitation over the period 1950
through 2004. The locations of Edgewater/Lakewood, Fort Morgan, Greeley, and Julesburg
were selected to represent irrigated lands (Table 2) and Fort Morgan, Julesburg, and Kassler
were used to investigate non-irrigated lands (Table 3). Recharge under soil class D conditions
was not considered given that this soil class represents only 1 percent of the ground water model
areas.
Table 2
Average Annual (1950 - 2004) Recharge Estimates for Irrigated Lands

Soil Growing Season
(A r throu h Oct) Non-Growing Season
(Nov throu h Mar)
Location Class PT
(inches) PQ
(%) PE + PS
(%) PD
(%) PT
(inches) PQ + PE
(%) PS
(%) PD
(%)
[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]
Ed
/ A 0 27 62 36.2 1.8
gewater
L
k
d B 12.3 5 73 22 3.9 62 36.2 1.8
a
ewoo C 15 12 62 36.2 1.8
F A 7 22 62 38 0
ort
M
r B 11.2 17 71 12 1.8 62 38 0
gan
o C 30 0 62 38 0
A 8 22 62 36.4 1.6
Greeley B 10.5 17 70 13 2.8 62 36.4 1.6
C 30 0 62 36.4 1.6
A 9 20 62 37.6 0.4
Julesburg B 14.5 20 71 9 2.7 62 37.6 0.4
C 32 0 62 37.7 0.3
Task 64.doc 11 of 13
