^ As State resources allow, expand the bedrock water level monitoring network to include
locations and aquifers where data gaps exist, including the deeper central portion of
each of the aquifers.
Additional effort should be considered to obtain historical water level data for the
aquifers and time periods where data gaps exist. This might include soliciting more
entities for historical data and obtaining static water level information from well
permits.
HydroBase should include a field in its water level measurement table that indicates if
the water level measurement was collected under pumping or non-pumping conditions.
For data solicited from outside entities, the State should evaluate the data to determine if
the measurements represent pumping or non-pumping conditions. This could be
accomplished by analysis of hydrographs from individual wells and by evaluating
records eliminated from contouring in this TM.
The water level data presented in this TM should be used to develop continuous
potentiometric surface maps of each aquifer for use as initial aquifer water levels and in
model calibration of a Denver Basin Region bedrock aquifer groundwater model.
6.0 References
Castle Pines Metropolitan District. 2005.
