The District provides <br />approxinlately 2,220 acre-feet/year to approximately 4,023 customer accounts; 3,827 are residential <br />accounts and 196 are commercial accoWlts. The District's system is experiencing 15% water loss <br />from water produced. which equates to an average of 346 acre feet per year since 2001. They <br />anticipate that their Water ConsetvationPlan will: aid with their leak: detection planning and <br />implementation process; fulfill the requirement for CWCB and Colorado Power and Water Authority <br />for loan proceeds to be released fOT the SECWCD Arkansas Valley Conduit Project; and assist with <br />meeting the basin's 756,000 acre~feet of water needed by 2030, according to SWSI. St Charles <br />Mesa Water District recognizes the value ofwater resources and the need to use them wisely_ They <br />plan to reduce their overall water usage by 1 % per year for the next 7 years, at which time they will <br />fe-evaluate their water conservation plan and goalsr <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting $15,730 to aid in developing a Water Conservation Plan that meets the <br />requirements outlined in SB 07-008. The applicant has demonstrated their financial ability to <br />provide 30% of the total project budget with matching funds in the form. of $6!>299 in-kind <br />contributions~ Staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined that the <br />proposal ~eets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
