continuous and bi-annual measurements, and a comparison of spring and fall annual water
level changes.
2.2.1 Evaluation of Alluvial Water Level Trends
The hydrographs of the SPDSS alluvial monitoring wells can be grouped alto four different
water level trend patterns:
• Category 1- Groundwater levels fall during the winter months and rise during the
growmg season,
• Category 2 - Groundwater levels rise during t11e winter months and decline during the
growmg season,
• Category 3 - Groundwater levels appear to be influenced by stream stage in t11e Sout11
Platte River
• Category 4- Groundwater levels show no discernable seasonal trend.
Table 4 presents a sununary of which of the 37 alluvial SPDSS monitoring wells that are
monitored continuously fall into each category. It should be noted that some wells have trends
t11at strongly match a category, while others do not. Therefore, the categorization below is
necessarily subjective and is based on engineering judgement. Hydrographs for these wells can
be found in Appendix E and are identified by well ID.
Table 4: Alluvial Water Level Trends by Category
Category 1 (water
levels rise in
growing season) Category 2 (water
levels decline in
growing season) Category 3 (water
levels affected by
stream stage) Category 4 (no
discernable
seasonal trend)
DSS02MLK DSSO~WIG DSSI7HND DSS07BLZ
DSS03OCH DSS05WLD DSS22KRY DSSIIILF
DSS2~KRY DSS06WLD DSS38BLZ DSSI~DIA
DSS25KRY DS508BLZ DS5~2JBG DSSI5DIA
DSS26KRY DSS09STR DSSI8HND
DSS27KRY DSSIOSTR DSS20BBD
DSS28KRY DSSI2JBG DSS32KRY
DSS30BXE DSSI3JBG DSS29BXE
DSSI6HND DSS39BLZ
DSSI9BBD
DSS2IBBD
DSS3IWLD
DSS32WLD
DSS33WLD
Dss~oJBG
DSS~IJBG
SPDSS Phase 4 Task 39 Technical Memorandum-Final 13
O~i20%2008
