2. For parcels that get water from more than one ditch, make sure the percentages
assigned to the WDIDs add up to 100.
3. Validate that parcels are assigned to valid WDIDs, based on information in
HydroBase.
As indicated, the review of key structures included looking at headgate location
compared to irrigated lands and service areas. Although not specifically scoped for this
task, issues relating to headgate locations in the Divl_diversions_20040930 coverage
were identified.
In addition, acreage assigned to surface water sources that have been transferred to wells
(alternate point diversions) were reviewed to determine if wells are assigned to each
parcel, and if the comment field indicates that the wells divert under the surface water
structure's water right.
Finally, the Task 91 and Task 93 memoranda developed by RTi documenting the
approach and results to developing the GIS irrigated acreage coverages were reviewed
and minor comments provided to RTi.
Results
The review of surface water structure acreage in Division 1 and Water District 47
identified issues that need to be resolved by RTi or division staff. Of the 849,500 acres
identified with surface water diversion structures in the 2001 coverage, only 6,508 acres,
less than 0.8 percent, show potential discrepancies.
The following key structures have 2001 irrigated lands with spatial discrepancies.
