3.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Because of the strengths inherent in each software tool, the CRDSS uses ARC/INFO as the data
development and editing tool, while GRASS is used as the modeling and analysis tool. This approach
provides the user with a combination of the strengths of each system and the maximum amount of
flexibility. In this project, the database capabilities of GIS will be minimized. The database attributes
for spatial data are stored in the CRDSS INFORMIX database.
