Reservoir (Dam) Locations
Reservoir (dam) locations are provided by the State's Dam Inventory. A secondary data source for this
information is DOLA. Prototype population of reservoir and dam locations into CRDSS is scheduled for
Month 6, Year 1.
Transbasin Diversion Input Locations
Transbasin diversion import/export locations are the locations of any diversions that move water between
basins. Time series and location data for these structures are available from the State. Spatial data for the
Gunnison River basin will be incorporated into the CRDSS by Month 6, Year 1.
Diversion Structure Locations
Diversion structure data will be provided by the State in conjunction with the irrigated acreage data.
Spatial locations of diversion structures in the Gunnison River basin will be incorporated into the spatial
database by Month 9, Year 1.
Stream Gage Locations
Stream gages provide stream flow data. Original sources for these data include the USGS, Denver Water,
and the State. Data for the Gunnison River basin will be provided in ARC/INFO format from the State's
inventory and will be populated into the CRDSS by Month 7, Year 1.
Climate and Weather Station Locations
Several types of weather data are required for the consumptive use model. These data types are part of the
historical database and are described there. Station locations and elevation are equally necessary for the
model and will be stored as points in the spatial database. Data is available from several weather
networks, including NWS, WTHR, COAGMET, RAWS, UCC, and NOAA. Gunnison River basin
locations will be incorporated into the spatial database by Month 7, Year 1.
Isohyetal Maps of Precipitation
These data are provided by the National Weather Service (NWS) and spatially indicate areas of similar
precipitation measured on a monthly basis. A map with average rainfall values from 1951 to 1980 from
the Colorado Climate Center (CCC) will be digitized. Coverage of the Gunnison River basin will be
incorporated into the spatial database by the end of Year 1.
Soils
Coverage indicating soil types is available from the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) in ARC /INFO
format. These data are used in the consumptive use model to determine the total available moisture for
soil in irrigated areas. Soil coverage of the Gunnison River basin will be populated by the end of Month
9, Year 1.
A275 01.08.95 3 1.06 -1 IDs Group
