Specify the section of the
manual to resolve conflicts where more than one
man page has the same name. The program by default sends output to
.I lpr(1).
.SH OPTIONS
The following command line options are recognized:
.IP -
Print to standard output (instead of to the printer). This option is useful
when generating a PostScript file for distribution.
.IP -cat
Output is created in "cat" format. Man pages in this format can be displayed
by the
.I cat(1)
program without further processing. This option is useful for creating
distributable man pages that should not be edited and are more quickly
displayed by the
.I man(1)
command.
.IP -h
Print program usage.
.IP -PPrinter
Specify the printer to use with
.I lpr(1).
No space can separate the -P and the name of the printer.
.IP -ps
Format the man page for a PostScript printer (the default output format).
.IP -silent
Do not print status messages. Normally,
.I pman
prints status messages to indicate where documentation is located (e.g., local
man pages or system man pages). These messages may not be desirable if the
program is being run non-interactively. This option is set automatically when
the "-" option is given.
.IP -text
Format output as ASCII text with no special fonts, etc. This can be used if
the system printer is not a PostScript printer.
.IP -v
Print program version.
.IP -verbose
Print status messages (the default).
.SH RESTRICTIONS
The
.I pman
program has been tested for AIX 3.x, ULTRIX 4.x, and IRIX 5.x. Every vendor
supports man pages in a different way, including on-line and hard-copy support.
Different environments will require changes to the program.
.SH SEE ALSO
lpr(1), man(1), psprint(1)
.SH AUTHOR
Steven A.
