The water supply information should be accounted for directly when estimating the actual <br />consumptive use; the CRDSS consumptive use program has this capability. In the past, the water <br />supply information was used indirectly to calculate water-short areas that were then used as input <br />requirements to the consumptive use model. The danger of this is that the temporal variability of the <br />water supply and its impact to the actual consumptive use may be lost because of the convenience of <br />just specifying short areas that are constant from year to year. <br />4.0 SUPPORTING MATERIALS <br />Tables 4 and 5 show tabular summaries of consumptive use computation for the San Juan River <br />basin. <br />Page 4 <br />A275 03.07.95 1.14-26 Garcia <br />
