Consumptive Ilse Summary
<br />Total consumptive use in the SPDSS study area consists of municipal and industrial water users'
<br />consumptive use. The following summarizes key points in calculating the consumptive use for
<br />both types of users.
<br />• Population and average demand rates (per capita) were used to determine total demands
<br />• Absent specific data provided by key municipalities, 56:44 split between in-house demands
<br />and outside demands was used
<br />• CU rates were estimated for in-house demands for municipalities to be 5 percent
<br />• CU rates were estimated for in-house demands for unincorporated areas to be 10 percent
<br />• CU rates were estimated for outside demands to be 83 percent
<br />• Industrial demands and CU rates were provided by major self-supplied industrial water users
<br />in the study area
<br />Consumptive use of municipal water users by water district and for key municipalities is shown
<br />in Table 7. Total municipal consumptive use in the SPDSS study area for 2000 is approximately
<br />266,000 acre-feet per year. The total consumptive use for municipal water users in the SPDSS
<br />study area estimated for year 2000 is equal to approximately 40 percent of the total municipal
<br />water user demand (approximately 677,000 acre-feet). The CU as a percentage of municipal
<br />demand has stayed relatively consistent during the SPDSS study period.
