<br />LOCAL REOUEST FOR DESIGNATION ACTION <br /> <br />"WHEREAS, the Town of Dillon, Colorado has requested technical assistance from the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to analyze and revise the flooding sources and 100-year <br />floodplain delineations within the corporate limits of Dillon; and <br /> <br />"WHEREAS, the Town of Dillon, Colorado, has requested the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board to designate and approve the approximate floodplains set forth in the aforesaid new report <br />dated March 1999; and <br /> <br />c.R.S AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)((:), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to assist in the pr€::vention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along <br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(e), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies oflocal jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />COMPll.,IANCE WITH CWCB TECHNICAL STANDARDS <br /> <br />JfIvdrologic Compliance <br />WHEREAS, the hydrology information for the approximate floodplains for the streams <br />in said new report with included mapping has been estimated using hydrologic techniques that <br />are in accordance with the nRules and Regulations for the Designation and Approval of <br />Floodpl{Jins and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in Colorado" (2 CCR 408-1) <br />(Rules and Regulations); and <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, the hydrology information for Straight Creek has been developed using <br />detailed engineering techniques, as incorporated in Resolutions Nos. 154 and 167; and <br /> <br />ViHEREAS, the Denver Water Department has determined, through a detailed <br />hydrologic analysis, that a 100-year inflow into Dillon Reservoir combined with a 100-year <br />outflow from Dillon Reservoir would result in a 100-year flood elevation in the reservoir of <br />9031 MSL, the elevation of Dillon Dam; and <br /> <br />3 <br />
