Scope of Work <br />Upper Mountain Counties Water Needs Assessment <br />Task 6 Assuniptions <br />^ One ulterview of each cowlty's appropriate planning official will be conducted to <br />identify possible new recreation or tourism related water deinand. <br />Task 6 DeliverRbles <br />^ A description and location of possible new recreation and tourisnl projects. <br />^ An estimate of t11e water requirements related to these projects that could impact <br />the surroundulg area from denlands for restrooms, restaurants, and gas stations. <br />Task 7- Draft and Final Report <br />A draft and final report will be provided to the Upper Mountaul Counties <br />suninlarizing Tasks 1-6. One nleeting will be held with the Upper Mountain Counties <br />to discuss the draft report contents and received conlnlents. An additional nleeting <br />will be held with fl1e Upper Mountain Counties after the fu1a1 report is conlpleted to <br />prepare a presentation on the results to t11e South Platte Roundtable. A presentation <br />t11at suninlarizes the report that could be utilized u1 public nleetings will be created <br />for t11e Upper Mountaul Counties <br />Task 7Assuniptions <br />^ Draft and fi~lal report will be provided in electronic format wifl1811ard copy <br />reports produced for the Upper Mountain Counties. <br />Task 7 DeliverRbles <br />^ Draft and final report in electronic and hard copy format. <br />^ Presentations sumnlarizing results of study <br />Section 2 Key Personnel <br />Relevant project experience for the key persorulel proposed for t11e Upper Mountain <br />Cow~ties Water Needs Assessnlent are presented in this section. <br />Hal Simpson, P.E. - Technical Director <br />Hal Sinlpson currently is a consulting en~ neer in water resources nlanagenlent. He <br />retired following 34 years of service to the State of Colorado with the last 15 years as <br />State Engineer and Director of the Division of Water Resources. He was appointed <br />State Engineer on August 7, 1992. As State Engineer, Mr. Simpson was responsible <br />for the direction and management of t11e Division of Water Resources, which has a <br />staff of 265 FTE and a budget of approxinlately $23 inillion. T11e Division is <br />responsible for distribution and adnunistration of water in accordance with statutes <br />and ulterstate conlpacts; the inlplenlentation of a statewide danl safety progranl; the <br />pernutting of the use of b ound water and construction of wells; the collection and <br />dissemination of data on water use and stream flow; and conductulg various studies <br />concerning water resources and the availability of water supplies. T11e State Engineer <br />is Colorado's conlnussioner on five u~terstate conlpacts and is responsible for assuring <br />compliance wit11 these conlpacts.
