<br />--"'::;I' - <br /> <br />FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />"..; <br /> <br />1.1 Purpose of Study <br /> <br />The purpos~ of this Flood Insurance Study is to investigate the <br />existence and severity of flood hazards in the Town of Frisco, <br />Summit Coun:ty, Colorado, and to aid in the administration of the <br />National F]ood Insurance Act of 1968 and the Flood Disaster Protec- <br />I <br />tion Act oE 1973. Initial use of this information will be to <br />convert Frilsco to the regular program of flood insurance by the <br />Federal Inslurance Administration. Further use of the information <br />will be made by local and regional planners in their efforts to <br />promote sourd land use and flood plain developmen-t. <br /> <br />1.2 Coordination <br /> <br />, <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />Streams reqUI iring detailed study were identified at a meeting <br />attended by representatives of the study contractor, the Federal <br />Insurance AClministration, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, <br />i <br />and the TowP of Frisco in May 1977. <br />i <br /> <br />"\ <br /> <br />Results <br />Federal <br />Board. <br /> <br />of ~he hydrologic analyses were coordinated with the <br />InsUrance Administration and the Colorado ~vater Conservation <br />, <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />The results' of this study were reviewed at a final community coordi- <br />nation meetang held on April 30, 1979.
