He has had been a part of meetings with southwestern Colorado <br />local governments regarding snowmelt flooding. The USBR, NOAA, NWS are looking at a predictive <br />weather modeling for the Durango <br />area. Tom is likely to be the next <br />Flood Task Force Chair. The <br />CWCB presented snowmelt flood <br />threat maps using SNODAS that <br />also had a GIS layer of the Million <br />Fire in South Fork and the <br />Missionary Ridge fire near <br />Durango from 2002. These maps <br />are prepared by the CWCB <br />Decision Support System Program. <br />The snowmelt flood threat reports <br />by the CWCB are emailed out <br />weekly this spring and posted on <br />the CWCB website at <br />http://cwcb.state.co.us/flood watch <br />/index.html - 2005 High Snowpack. <br />.
