<br />o South Platte River Basin - . The upper South Platte has snowpacks in the 130-105% range. The <br />basin wide snowpack is 108% of average. Reservoir storage is 92% of average, 100% of last year, <br />and 78% of total capacity. <br />o Gunnison River basin - The Upper Gunnison has high snowpack in the 130-149% range. Basin <br />wide snowpack is 133% of average. Reservoir storage is 107% of average and 88% oflast year <br />and 60% of total capacity. The forecasted streamflows on Tomichi Creek and Gunnison River at <br />Grand Junction are near 150% of average <br />o Southwest River Basins - <br />Snowpack in the San Juan Basin is <br />the best in this area but it also pretty <br />good in the Mancos, Dolores, <br />Animas, San Miguel and La Plata <br />basins. The basin wide snowpack <br />average is 126% of average. <br />Reservoir storage is 10 I % of <br />average, 83% oflast year, and 66% <br />of capacity. <br />o Rio Grande River Basin - the <br />snowpack is 140% of average and <br />I identical to 2005. Reservoir storage <br />is 103% of average and 121% oflast <br />year and 31 % of total capacity. The <br />Rio Grande at Del Norte is forecasted <br />for 140% of average, South Fork Rio <br />Grande at South Fork 148%. <br />o Arkansas River Basin - The Purgatorie, Apishipa, and Cucharas-Herfano have the best <br />snowpack in this basin. The basin wide <br />snowpack is 141 % of average. <br />Reservoir storage is 94% of average, <br />107% oflast year, and 33% of <br />capacity. <br /> <br />Division of Water Resources SWSI Reoort <br />. Don West explained that the NRCS <br />calculates the Statewide Water Supply <br />Index in the winter and the DWR does it <br />in the summer. The DWR report can is at <br />http://water.state.co.us/pubs/swsi.asp . The <br />range is +4 abundnant water supply to -4 <br />severe drought. The highest is the <br />Gunnison Basin at 3.9 and the lowest is <br />the South Platte at +0.2. <br />o South Platte Basin - 1.1, 112% of normal, plains reservoirs are 100% of capacity. Jim Hall <br />Division I states the primary diversions are for storage by end of the month. All major <br />reservoir filled. Recharge will help well augmentation groups. The dry conditions on the <br />plains might see more irrigation calls unless we get rainfall.
