<br />ABSTRACT <br /> <br />New Mexico State University has completed the initiation of a field <br />research progra~ in Atmospheric Water Resources Augmentation and Manage- <br />ment within the Jemez and Sierra Nacimiento Mountain Ranges. <br />The following components of the program have received the greatest <br />concentration of time and finances during F.Y. 1968: <br />1. A statistical design that will determine the experimental unitsr <br />and procedures for data collection and analysis has been selected. <br />2. Personnel have been selected and trained for experimental field <br />activities. <br /> <br />has been designed, <br /> <br />-- ---------...... <br />NCAR-E Baulay'Nuclei <br />~- --------- <br /> <br />Detection and Counting system was purchased and calibrated. <br />5. The terrestrial precipitation measurement system was composed <br />of 15 snow precipitation stations and 12 snow courses. The average pre- <br />cipitation for the ten weeks measurement period was 4.32 inches. A <br />maximun of 6.53 inches was recorded on the West side of the experimental <br />area at Blue Bird Mesa. ~ine major storms passed over the measurement <br />system and included twenty-two days with precipitation greater than <br />0.01 inches. The storms were generally spread over the entire experi- <br />mental area, but they were not of uniform intensity nor duration. <br />6. Support systems of transportation, field office, emergency <br />trailers and radar were obtained and used. Radio communications and over- <br /> <br />3.
