<br />COSTS <br /> <br />The cloud seeding operations have been paid totally by <br />State and County dollars. The State pays 75% of these <br />costs. County funds are used only to pay 25% of the <br />cost of operations. The State absorbs the expense of <br />maintaining the office of DWM exclusive of the cost of <br />operations. <br /> <br />Federal funds have been used to support research which <br />has developed methods of program evaluation and improve- <br />ments for making the program more productive. <br /> <br />Costs for the "operations" in 1974 were 3.44: per acre: <br />each participating county shared 0.854: per acre of this <br />cost or only $1.36 per 1/4 section of land.
