Participants included representatives from most groups currently
active in this field in the United States, as well as from the Alberta (Canada)
Research Council.

I
1
I

A considerable body of important current information was presented and discussed
at the Workshop. It was deemed desirable to summarize the various presentations
and general discussion sessions, and to provide these to all participants.
The summaries, as they were prepared by the leaders and assistant leaders, are
contained herein. The Workshop Agenda is also included for reference, and sum-
maries are in the order given in the Agenda.

It is stressed that the Workshop was deliberately informal to provide for an
open working atmosphere with active participation. This was achieved and the
Workshop proved to be quite productive and useful. The enclosed summaries
naturally reflect the informal nature of the proceedings.

Appreciation is expressed to all who attended the Workshop for the cooperative
and constructive manner in which they participated. Special thanks are due the
leaders and assistant leaders for the quality and focus of their presentations
or discussion sessions, and for the written summaries provided.

~~

Arlin Super.
Workshop Coordinator
