B. Daily Scheduling

Table 1 lists the daily schedule of operations for the measurement

systems noted. Aircraft sampling missions may be flown anytime from

approximately 1030 until dark, depending on the availability of suitable

;0

clouds. Normally, takeoffs will not be made later than 1800. However, the

project director may occasionally call for evening or even night missions,

C. Forecasts

Forecasts will be issued for the area within 1.50 km of Hiles City. As

a minimum, the parameters listed below will be forecast at 1115 each opera-

tiona1 day for the period 1200 until dark, To the lextent practicable, the

1115 forecast will treat the period from 1200 until dark as two separate

periods divided at 1630. The 1600 forecast ,,!ill then be an update for the

period 1630 until dark. This practice will allow for more efficient schedu1-

ing of personnel than a single forecast for the entire period.

Table 1. - Daily operational schedule

Time m.d. t.

Action

0515

Rawinsonde technicians begin preparation for rawinsonde launch.

0545

Daily rawinsonde launch.

0700

Rawinsonde operator processes data through CYBER time-share
computer system.

0730

Electronics technician for SWR-75 radar begins routine cali-
bration and maintenance.

'"

0800*

Forecaster and assistant begin prep~ration for 0945 and 1115
briefing.

0930*

Electronics technician for radar phones equipment status to
forecaster or his assistant,

11-2
