Ka-band data acquisition system is built around a pc/AT-style 486-DX2/66 VESA/ISA bus <br />computer with a 520 Mayte hard disk. A digital signal processing card (DSP), an IEEE488 interface card <br />for antenna control, and a fast, bus-mastering SCSI interface for the data archival medium have been added. <br />A parallel/analog interface card by Data Translation inputs various radar parameters. <br /> <br />Data can be recorded directly to hard disk and/or to an 8mm cartridge tape. The system can playback data <br />at 3-4 times the acquisitions rate providing a color display. <br /> <br />The data acquisition software was developed using the Borland ClC++ v3.1 development system. The DSP <br />card was manufactured by Sonitech' International and contains two Texas Instruments TMS320C40 40 MHz <br />processors.
