3.6 Days with Potential Seedability
There were fourteen seedable days during periods of
no operational restrictions; four in June, eight in July, one in August,
and a final day in September. During these days attempts we!re made
to treat as many seedable clouds as possible. The occurrenee of
seedable cells during periods of partial or limited restrictions
accounted for ten more seedable days; nine in August and one in
September. During these ten days clouds were selected for Heeding
only in those areas designated by the steering Committee as "areas
needing rainfall"; the remainder of the target was not utilized.
The partial restrictions of early August were then
followed by a complete suspension of all seeding operations. The
full-time restriction lasted about three weeks during which most of
the days were believed to be seedable. There were a total of thirteen
seedable days during complete shutdowns; two in July and the remain-
ing eleven in August.
