Table IV provides a complete summary of all
missions flown.

3.4 Case study Days
In order to facilitate the evaluation of the seeding
events during the Experimental Period it was necessary to classify
all days when seeding took place in the 12-2200 time frame. Each
Experimental Period day, when flares were fired, was classified
as a "Case study", of which there were twelve (some days ha.d
multiple flights). These cases were then further reduced to two
categories; sand (placebo) and live AgI flare cases.
In accordance with the rules of the randomization
scheme four of the twelve original cases were disqualified from
the statistical analysis for several reasons (10 were retained for
the Case study Analysis). Summaries of "qualified" and "diB-
qualified" seeding cases are listed in Tables V and VI. The two
reasons for disqualifying the four cases are given in Table VI
and relate to either a low number of flares expended or seeding
during the Operational Period which might contaminate clouds
observed in the following Experimental Period.

3.5 Suspension of Seeding Operations
On several occasions the steering Committee
ordered a suspension of seeding operations over selected arE!aS
of the state for both the Experimental and Operational Periods.
During two separate periods, operations were shut down over the
entire target area; once in early July and again in mid-August.
Limited operations were permitted during most of the August and
during early September. The following is a list of partial and
complete shut-down periods:

27

"
