Overall public awareness of water conservation activities will increase the success of the
plan. TheCity of Fort Morgan will continue toeducate the public on the importance of water
conservation. The drought of the past few years, the water restrictions that were in place
during the water shortage and the water issues pressing to the entire State of Colorado, have
made citizens more aware of the need to conserve water.
The plan was presentedat a City Council work session andmade available for public review on
the City’s website and at City offices. The Water Advisory Board reviewed the plan and gave
their input.
The citizens of FortMorgan had opportunity to provide input on the proposed water
conservation plan. The plan was presented at a CityCouncil work session, made available for
public review on the City’s website and at City offices, and a timeframe of six months was given
for public input into the plan.
8.3Monitoringand Evaluating the Plan
Many of the measures and programs in the water conservation plan have already been in effect.
However, data on water conservation savings on measures and programs already in effect were
limited.
