<br />Temperature: Warm air tended to be ahead of CCls and cool air was
<br />immediately behind. The cold' air masses were associated with divergence al1Ld
<br />high relative humi~ities in several cases.

<br />First echoes: First echoes did not seem to prefer areas of high
<br />convergence. The convergence areas tended to be roughly 30 - 40 km east of the
<br />first echoes. First echoes occurred gt either small positive or small neg~ltive
<br />zones of convergence. There was a tendency for first echoes to be grouped
<br />about certain times. For this reason, an average network divergence may bE~ a
<br />useful covariate. Large centers of moisture convergence (4 to 6xlO-6sec-l) had
<br />first echoes associated upwind of the centers.

<br />An overview of the data to date shows som~ encouraging predictor/covariates.
<br />can be applied to the mesonet data. It is not possible to present the final
<br />results of the analysis of those data at this time due to personnel cutbacks
<br />and extended preliminary data processing. The mesonet data is a unique set
<br />which was collected under rigorous quality control. These data are
<br />complemented by the data collection efforts of others i~ what has been the
<br />largest summer convective storm study in the world. Mesonet research has
<br />continued on this project. Because much of this report had been drafted prior
<br />to completion of the mesonet analyses, an additio~al report on those respective
<br />findings has been prepared and presented as an' appendix to this final report to
<br />eliminate the inconvenience of report reorganization.
