ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Without the assistance and dedication of many individuals, this Final
Report would not h.ave been possible. Because of the uninterrupted transition
from the initial contract to the existing Cooperative Agreement, those people
whose efforts contributed to earlier research planning, facilitating and
reporting continue to be recognized as significant participants to this
report. In addition there are several parties who have provided meaningful
assistance to the preparation of this report and we choose to gratefully
acknowledge their efforts. From the Department of Natural Resources and
Conservation's RIPI,EX staff and contractors, we would like to thank Al Bessol,
Allan Bessol, Tom Corona, Bob DeLange, Richard Dunning, Diane Donnelly, Marvin
Krader, Denis Leidholt, Robert McGraw, Myra ~iunday, John Newbauer, and Sarah
Norman.

The interfacing of program administrative responsibilities between the
Bureau of Reclamation and the Department of Natural ReSOUrces and Conservation
has been a pleasant and satisfying undertaking. This essential element of
cooperative willingness has been preserved in great part as a result of the
very useful guidance provided by Arlin Super of the Bureau and the pertinent
and timely attention given by Richard Moy of the Department. The Bureau of
Reclamation's working association has been extremely cordial and cooperative,
where they have routinely exhibited a concern and dedication towards a quality
program.

The Bureau's employees at Miles City have always shared their time and
knowledge towards the resolvement of Department problems. In addition, the
Denver staff has also been very willing to assist and contribute to the
Department's concerns. This cooperative attitude is gratefully acknowledged by
the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation as a most vital element to
the successes accomplished during the course of RIPLEX.

Unrecognized by many but certainly not by the Department was the local
support extended to RIPLEX. The agriculturally oriented community was
continually interested in RIPLEX activities and progress, and always assisted
in whatever manner possible. This very pleasant and positive spirit of willing
support deserves special praise. As part of this community involvement, a
committee comprised of area civic leaders voluntarily served in an advisory
capacity. Their participation has been a tremendous help in providing
community awareness and acceptance of RIPLEX programs.

The production of this report was an undertaking that required critical
contributions from several people with diverse talents. Included are D. C.
Roward and Dan Nelson who prepared the graphic material, and Peggy Todd, the
technical editor for this document. Finally, a "thank you" can hardly express
our gratitude to Cheryl Cordier, Melissa Otis, Julie Frickel, Nicky Wylie and
Donna Elser who had the complex task of typing the manuscript.

We especially wish to acknowledge Donna Elser, the RIPLEX Office Manager,
whose enthusiastic attitude and proficient administrative assistance enabled
the staff to successfully meet the demands of participating in this program.

v
