<br />Only those radar echoes occurring within a specified distance of the <br />I <br />first aircraft pointer will be considered in these analyses.; That <br />distance, chosen to allow for diffusion of the ice-crystal plume and <br />for possible drift of the aircraft pointer relative to the c~oud, <br />will not be smaller than 6 km nor larger than 20 km. Within those <br />limits, the formula r = 2~ will be used, where r = radiu~ in <br />centimeters, E = 300 cm2js3, and t = time in seconds.
