Therefore, a southwest <br />wind upwind of the Mesa will likely become a southerly' or <br />even southeasterly wind at lower levels over the Mesa. The <br />SL W generated in such eases' probably'does' not remain over <br />the Mesa as long- as figure 2-2 suggests, but rather passes <br /> <br />8 <br />
