The map, entitled "Central Colorado Water Develop-
ment" depicts, among other things, the Cityls completed Blue River System,
indicated in red; the Homestake Project Collection and Diversion System,
indicated in yellow; and the Eagle-Arkansas Collection and Diversion System,
also indicated in yellow.

Engineering in progress will determine the method by which project
water will be delivered to Aurora and to Colorado Springs. Joint planning
with the Bureau has been initiated to explore the possibility of a common
facility to deliver Homestake and Frying Pan water to Colorado Springs.
The route indicated on the map as a dotted line, extending from Turquoise Lake
to Colorado Springs via Trout Creek Pass is only one of several routes which
are being explored.

The Pikes Peak Watershed map, with recent additions pencilled int ex-
plains itself pretty well.

For your additional information, the average total production of the
Pikes Peak Watershed above the Pump Station in West Colorado Springs, for
the period 1940 through 1960 was 26,627 acre feet annually. Of this total
amount, an annual average of about 15, 000 acre feet is diverted by the City
System. The City's Blue River Diversion System was completed late this
summer. The estimated annual diversion from this source is 15,000 acre feet.
The City.s total annual supply is, therefore, in the order of 30,000 acre feet.
Total water used in the City in this current year will be about 26, 000 acre feet.

I hope this material is of some use to your office. Feel free to call
on us for any information which we might be able to supply.

Very truly yours,

JSN /rhh

Q)u/

J. S.
