This <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />report presents detailed observations of the wind, temperature anJ <br /> <br />humidity distribution during an orographic precipitation event, Obser- <br /> <br />vations like these should become the basis for defining the initial <br /> <br />conditions for future numerical models. Especially useful in this <br /> <br />capacity are the trajectories of parcels travelling over a ridge. <br /> <br />The analysis presented here should lead to a greater understanding <br /> <br />of the small scale meteorological processes in cold orographic clouds. <br /> <br />In the analysis some basic assumptions have been rather boldly made <br /> <br />concerning orographic clouds. It is hoped that some insight into the <br /> <br />validity of these assumptions may be obtained from the results, as well <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />as the more quantitative goals mentioned previously. <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />~ <br />
