.

APPENDIX
DURANGO RAWINSONDE DATA TABULATIONS

Data from all the rawinsondes released from a site near the
La Plata County Airport (approximately 16 mij.es southeast of Durango,
Colorado) are presented in this appendix. The rawinsonde receiver site
location is as follows:

North Latitude
West Longitude
Elevation

370 09' 20"
1070 45' 30"

6,6677 feet

Standard National Weather Service 1680 Mc sondes with
carbon humidity elements were tracked with a Weather Measure, Inc.,
No. RD-65 rawinsonde unit. The balloons were inflated to approxima.tely
a 1000-foot min-1 ascension rate.

e

The data were reduced as follows: all significant contact
data points and one-minute interval tracking angles were read into the
Bureau of Reclamation rawinsonde data reduction program located in the
computer sharin.g service computer terminal.

The sondes were released daily at 0500 MST and at nominal
intervals of three hours during experimental days.

The sondes are numbered serially.
