The stem of <br />the valve comes to the surface of the crown of the dam <br />through a rectangular shaft of concrete 5 feet by 6 feet <br />in dimensions. on top of which is the controlling wheel <br />for operating the gate. The dam is not over 6 feet high, <br />and is oniy intended to give a partial development of <br />the basin, and an available capacity of about 2,544 acre- <br />feet, at a maximum depth of 15 feet above the bottom <br />of the outlet pipe. <br /> <br />As I have stated, the amount charged to this Reservoir <br />is given ~n the Audit Company's report at 513.093.36. <br />To complete it to a fuli capacity of 9.947 acre-feet the <br />embankment will have to be exterded to a total length <br />of 6,580 feet, with a maximum height of 22 feet. This is <br />estimated to cost 516,000.00 including the extension of <br />the gate tower. The total cost of the reservoir per acre- <br />foot of storage capacity will not exceed 53.00. which is <br />extremely moderate. <br /> <br />56 <br />
