It <br />will increase total obligations by $11 million: $5.3 <br />million to be derived from power revenues collected from the <br />Colorado River Storage Project; $4 million to be collected <br />from power revenues from Hoover Oam and then appropriated <br />from the Colorado River Dam Fund; and $1.7 million to be <br />collected from power revenues on the Parker-Oavis Project <br />.anLl then apprDpriate.d fr.om th~ R~-cl-ama'tion r una. <br /> <br />An increase in power rates of less than one mill on Colorado <br />River System hydropower can finance the demonstration <br />completely. The annual power production for the Colorado <br />River Storage Project. Hoover Dam. and the Parker-Davis <br />Project averaged about 12 billion kilowatt hours for the <br />years 1980 and 1981. Therefore. an approximate 5/6 mill per <br />kilowatt-hour increase in the Bureau.s operation and maintenance <br />fee will fully finance the initial 3-year phase. Financial <br />requirements will be reduced to a 5/8 mill levy for the <br />5-year demonstration project. <br /> <br />It is estimated that an operational program could produce an <br />increase of 1.5 billion kilowatt-hours in new hydroelectric <br />power sales, far exceeding operational costs.
