7. This item in your analysis relates to Western Colorado present
uses of water from the Colorado River, which you state to be 544,000.acre-
feet annually. Unlike estimates for potential uses of water, ~his item is
not concerned vdth policies, legal interpretation of pertinent documents,
or future surveys and investigations. It is susceptible of reasonably
3.ccura.te determination on the basis of existing records and anticipated
2'xportationof water by authorized Federal projects . Accordingly, the
<:>-(;,aff of the ~later Board, at my request, has made certain estimates herein-
after set forth for the purpose of comparison with the figures which you
include in your analysis. Your figure is taken from the Bureau of Reclama-
tion Blue Book, p. 186, Table CXXI (it is the sum of 102,300 and 442,000 and
accurately should be 544,300). You erroneously state that in the computation
of such figure the Colorado-Big Thompson use is figured at 310,000. The text
shows (Blue Book, p. 126) that the Bureau used the figure o~ 32.0,000 for the
CCJlorado-Big Thompson. An analysis of the Blue Book tables on pp. 130, 138,
3.!ld 151 shows that the Bureau figure for present exportations is computed as
fol101l'Js:

Present exportations ..... . . . . . 102,300 A.F.
Present estimates of the engineering staff of the Colorado Water
Conservation Board on annual exportations f'rom the Colorado River system in
Comparing your figures under Item 6 and 7, with those contained
herein under paragraphs 6 and 7, it appears that your figure of 1,673,000
acre-feet, as the total present annual Colorado uses, is too high by 144 ,513
