ORCHARD CITY IRRIGATION DISTRICT
TRANSFER DITCH REHABILITATION

(No Photo Available)

Projeet De~eription

The Orchard City Irrigation District is located outside Orchard City, approximately 12
miles northeast of the City of Delta. The District has 403 shareholders, which are made up of
primarily small acreages. The District diverts water at Dry Creek, which is then delivered to
Fruit Growers Reservoir via the Transfer Ditch. A serious leak developed along the ditch in
2003 requiring the ditch to be shut down. This project involved the rehabilitation of 920-ft of
the Transfer Ditch, by enclosing the ditch section with 48" ADS plastic pipe, a new measuring
flume, and the placement of a new steel gate at Fruit Growers Reservoir. The project
commenced construction in the fall of2004 and was completed in February of2005.

Prlljeet Data

Sponsor: Orchard City Irrig.
