The city of Boulder's Watershed Outreach Program and
the Keep it Clean Partnership (Boulder, Boulder County, Erie, Longmont, Louisville, Superior) Education
Program have relied on resources provided by Project WET staff aIld in the ,Project \\lET activity book
for the past four years specifically for OUf school based education programs and annual teacher \\lorkshop.
We plan to continue to use the Project WET resources again this year and in years to come.

Each year City of Boulder and Keep it Clean Partnership education staff provide an average of 150 K-12
progranlS to 5,000 Boulder Valley School District and Saint Vrain Valley School District students. Our
professional team of four educators (three are Project WE1' facilitators) utilizes Project \VET activities as
the basis for many of these school based education progranlS. Through these prograIlls we often refer
teachers to ProjectWE"r resources includil1g the printed materials and contact information for the state
coordinator so tlley can find out about expanded Project WET educational programs. After participating
in the "Sum of the Parts" activity in her fourth grade classroom, one Boulder teacher shared, "~rhis
program was fantastic. Every student was engaged and they \vere able to make several COilllections to our
current \NTater unit."

The successful annual "(iet to Know Your H20" teacher workshop is coordinated in partnership with
Project WET. Each year an average of 20 teachers attend this \vorkshop, Inany of whom are drawn by the
Project \VET training offer. These teachers reach an average of 1,000 students who in turn share
infonnation with their falnilies. Teachers report that they are pleased Witll the high quality, informative
and standards-based activities that Project WET provides. One 2007 participallt shares "1 learned so much
and came a v,ray \vith excellent materials."

Finally, the State Project WET coordinator and Project vv"tTmaterials are wonderful resources not only
for educators, but also for nlunicipal employees respoIlsible for implelnenting stormwater education
programs in their comtnunities.

Thank you for your careful consideration of the Colorado Watershed Netvvork's proposal for Project
WET funding from the Colorado Water Conservation Board.
