Summary of March Snotel Data
March 18, 2008
SNOTEL data for those locations where the March 3, 2008 reading for Snow-Water
Equivalent (SWE) was over 120% of ~~verage are listed below. Light shading shows
SNOTELs where the average is between 140% and 159% of average, while darker
shading shows SNOTELs where the a~ierage is at or above 160% of average. This is a
first cut attempt at focusing attention on those watersheds where we should be most
concerned about the possibility of snawmelt flooding.
In the tables below, the first row indicates the SWE readings from March 3, 2008.
These values have been left in the tat~les for historical information and trend
determination. SNOTEL sites have not been deleted from the table unless they have
fallen below 100% on March 18. In f~~ture updates, additional sites will be added if they
go above 120% for the first time, but there were no cases of this for this update.
