technical support to implement. In its role of supporting the Basin Roundtables, CWCB should be
prepared to provide the benefits of its expertise to these grant recipients so their full benefits of their
application can be realized. CWCB would use the funds to review the status of past grant projects,
provide technical expertise on "next-steps" and support for additional WSRA grant requests if
needed.
Water Planning Relationship: These funds will allow CWCB to help WSRA grant recipients
to realize the full potential of their projects by providing additional technical support
Recommendation: Staff gives a medium recommendation for funding of this project because of
its importance to follow-up work that may be necessary from the grants provided which can be
completed if funds become available during the fiscal year.
A summary listing the projects and the recommended rankings follows as Attachment B.
FINAL RECOMMENDATION:
No action is needed on Part A or B.
With respect to Part C, eve recommend that you approve the staff ranking for each project and
direct us to allocate funding based on the amount of Severance Tax available within the
CWCB's five-percent share. We will not know exactly how much funding will be available
until the Executive Branch and the General Assembly act on proposals to divert a portion of
Severance Tax to the General Fund, place a cap on contribution into the Operational Account,
or keep agency funding static for other budgetary reasons.
20
