Our Youth Education Program is an important part of Aurora's <br />overall Water Conservation Plan. Project WET has always been the foundation for this <br />program providing hands-on training for staff and activities that we could incorporate <br />into our message. However, in 2007 with the support of a full time Project WET <br />coordinator in Colorado, we have been able to expand our award winning youth <br />education program. The support we receive from project WET and the Colorado Project <br />WET coordinator is a critical component to the current success of our youth education <br />programs and the ability to carry out our Youth Education Outreach within our <br />Conservation Plan. We strongly support continued funding of this critical outreach <br />program in Colorado. <br />The current Project WET program supports our efforts by providing training for our staff, <br />participation and curriculum for educational events and classroom presentations as well <br />as supplies, technical support and staff to conduct our annual "Forests to Faucets" teacher <br />training. We are better prepared and able to reach more students with this support. <br />Training <br />Project WET trainings have not only enhanced our Aurora Water Youth Education <br />team's water education knowledge, but have also provided critical background to other <br />City of Aurora Water employees.
