1 out of any moneys in the Colorado water conservation board construction
2 fund not otherwise appropriated, to the department of natural resources,
3 for allocation to the Colorado water conservation board, for the fiscal year
4 beginning July 1, 2008, the sum of four hundred thousand dollars
5 ($400,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the board to
6 work with stakeholders within the state of Colorado ~to explore
7 alternatives to wild and scenic designation and to explore alternatives that
8 would fall within the wild and scenic designation process.
9 (2) The moneys. appropriated in subsection (1) of this section shall
10 remain available for the ,designated purposes until the project is
11 completed.
12 SECTION 20. High resolution gridded sublimation estimate
13 study -appropriation. (1) In addition to any other appropriation, there
14 is hereby appropriated, out of any moneys in the Colorado water
15 conservation board construction fund not otherwise appropriated, to the
16 department of natural resources, for allocation to the Colorado water
17 conservation board, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008, the sum of
18 sixty-five thousand dollars ($65,000), or so much thereof as may be
19 necessary, for the board to participate with the United States geological
20 survey in a study to provide high resolution estimates of processes that
21 remove moisture from snowpack by developing and testing a relatively
22 low-cost network of instruments for measuring snowpack moisture losses
23 in the Colorado river watershed and in the headwaters of the South Platte
24 river basin. The study will have broad applicability to other Colorado
25 river basins and the results will be used to more accurately estimate
26 watershed runoff.
27 (2) The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) ofthis section shall
