1 out of any moneys in the Colorado water conservation board construction <br />2 fund not otherwise appropriated, to the department of natural resources, <br />3 for allocation to the Colorado water conservation board, for the fiscal year <br />4 beginning July 1, 2008, the sum of four hundred thousand dollars <br />5 ($400,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the board to <br />6 work with stakeholders within the state of Colorado ~to explore <br />7 alternatives to wild and scenic designation and to explore alternatives that <br />8 would fall within the wild and scenic designation process. <br />9 (2) The moneys. appropriated in subsection (1) of this section shall <br />10 remain available for the ,designated purposes until the project is <br />11 completed. <br />12 SECTION 20. High resolution gridded sublimation estimate <br />13 study -appropriation. (1) In addition to any other appropriation, there <br />14 is hereby appropriated, out of any moneys in the Colorado water <br />15 conservation board construction fund not otherwise appropriated, to the <br />16 department of natural resources, for allocation to the Colorado water <br />17 conservation board, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008, the sum of <br />18 sixty-five thousand dollars ($65,000), or so much thereof as may be <br />19 necessary, for the board to participate with the United States geological <br />20 survey in a study to provide high resolution estimates of processes that <br />21 remove moisture from snowpack by developing and testing a relatively <br />22 low-cost network of instruments for measuring snowpack moisture losses <br />23 in the Colorado river watershed and in the headwaters of the South Platte <br />24 river basin. The study will have broad applicability to other Colorado <br />25 river basins and the results will be used to more accurately estimate <br />26 watershed runoff. <br />27 (2) The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) ofthis section shall <br />• <br />• <br /> <br />-16- HB08-1346 <br />
