<br /> <br />Air condilioned sld!e prisons <br />such as wllpalrla will <br />purchase electricity Udlued <br />at up /0 $6 million <br />annually (rom /JD. <br /> <br />RELIABILITY AND SERVICE <br /> <br />Faced with an aging infrastructure and statistics which show the 110 service area to be <br />one of the fastest growing in the state. the Power Department is continuing the pro- <br />gram to improve reliability for all customers. <br /> <br />The growth in the (oachella Valley service area of residential and commercial cus, <br />tomers COfltinue to strengthen the UD system. By construction of new transmission <br />lines, substations and distribution to service this growth all customers benefit wIth <br />newer and more reliable equipment and infrastructure. <br /> <br />Although growth in Imperial Vaney is not as vigorous, the scheduled upgrades of no <br />facilities continue. Replacement of the 4000v lines in the older areas of downtown <br />Brawley, Calexico and EI Centro will enhance reliability for years to come.
