Bureau of Reclamation, the <br />California Department of Water Resources, and the State Water <br />Resources Control Board to fully communicate IID's ongoing <br />conservation efforts. <br /> <br />3. Diligently protect the future economic well-being of the <br />Imperial Valley by ensuring that its water resources are put to <br />their highest and best economic use. <br /> <br />4. <br />perfected <br />.~greement , <br />Agreement <br />regulatory <br /> <br />Vigorously defend, protect and preserve lID's present <br />rights and its entitlements under the Seven Party <br />the Boulder Canyon Project Act contracts, and Compromise <br />through active participation in federal and state <br />and administrative initiatives. <br /> <br />5. Oppose any proposals or initiatives that threaten the <br />current environmental and/or recreational amenities and benefits of <br />the Colorado River. <br /> <br />6. Maintain and enhance the economic well-being of Imperial <br />Valley and its residents by proactively promoting and supporting <br />opportunities to transfer conserved water, if and when: <br /> <br />· The transfer is economically beneficial to Imperial <br />Valley landowners and residents, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Adverse third party impacts, <br />appropriately addressed. <br /> <br />if <br /> <br />any, <br /> <br />are <br /> <br />· Environmental impacts, if any, are deemed to be ln <br />compliance with existing federal and state law. <br /> <br />8. Explore alliances with other parties relative to: <br /> <br />· The protection of existing water rights and laws. <br /> <br />· The voluntary transfer of water. <br /> <br />· The issues and activities which affect California <br />agriculture and Colorado River water and power <br />users. <br /> <br />· Protection and enhancement of the environment. <br /> <br />4 <br />
