This Chapter identifies and analyzes <br />current and historical land use, water use and population estimates to establish trends that may <br />ultimately impact future water requirements within the District. <br /> <br />IlIA Land Use <br /> <br />Historically, the Imperial Valley has had an agricultural based economy. Significant changes in <br />that status are not likely to occur over the next 50 years. Land use will, however, vary over the <br />next 50 years based upon the amount of urbanization and growth that takes place.
